STOCKHOLM – RUSSIAN investor Vladimir Antonov is no longer to take part in a sale and leaseback deal of the property and plant of Saab, which had been aimed at raising funds for the car maker, his spokesman said on Tuesday.
‘The property sale is now being discussed with external investors,’ said Lars Carlstrom, Mr Antonov’s representative in Sweden.
Mr Antonov was still interested in becoming a shareholder in Spyker, the Dutch owner of Saab, Mr Carlstrom added in an email.
Spyker is again scrambling to raise funds for Saab, which has halted production.
Spyker on Monday announced a deal for China’s Zhejiang Youngman Lotus Automobile Co eventually to take a 29.9 per cent stake and Chinese car distributor Pangda to take a 24 per cent stake for a combined 245 million euros (S$435 million).
